TELLING THE STORY: When our clients are able to understand their capacity for growth and clearly identify where their strengths lie, they are equipped to move forward and achieve their goals with intention and efficiency. We work closely with each of our clients to ensure that they can confidently apply the information and  the tools in order to be as effective as they can be.

THE DEVELOPMENTAL STRENGTHS FRAMEWORKS

Resiliency Initiatives presents the Developmental Strengths frameworks as a viable model to understanding the major components that contribute to the resiliency development and well-being of child, youth adults and aging-adults in our communities. The resiliency factors/developmental strengths represent fundamental elements found to be essential to cope effectively with life challenges and to become productive and responsible members of society.

THE QUESTIONNAIRE

Resiliency:Assessing Developmental Strengths

Resiliency Initiatives uses the survey method to asses and evaluate the effectiveness of programs, processes and capacity for growth. Each questionnaire will have approximately 100 questions and is administered either online or on paper. Participants are given a “pre” questionnaire at the beginning of the relationship and a “interim” questionnaires as required.  Once all of the participants information has been analyzed, a comprehensive report can be produced to show key areas of growth, strength and vulnerability.

The R:ADS Questionnaire is a tool that allows people and organizations to clearly both tell their story and discover their strengths in a way they never have been able to before. In collaboration with our clients, the R:ADS Questionnaire is customized to meet their specific and unique needs.

Below is an example of a sample questionnaire data set that we use to help us see the story at a glance. These results are all calculated based on the individual answers within the questionnaire. This is an example of how we are clearly able to understand the specific challenges and strengths represented in an individual’s life . Once we know where we are starting from, we can create a custom approach that highlights the strengths and therefore reduces the weight the challenges bear.

Sample Scoring Profile

Customization of Evaluation Questionnaires:

Resiliency Initiatives has the unique capacity to modify evaluation questionnaires and develop evaluation protocols that are specific to the context and needs of each organization, service and/or program while maintaining full evaluative integrity.

Through the process of exploring and identifying the unique evaluative needs of each client, the questionnaire(s) is developed using the most appropriate combination of the following elements:

1) Socio-Demographic items: Items such as gender, age, grade, as well as client engagement and the impact of service provided.

2) Resiliency Factors/Developmental Strengths: The external and internal Developmental Strengths that are related to long-term resiliency and wellness in children, adolescents and adults.

3) Core Character Competency Traits: The factors that are the foundational attitudes, skills and knowledge that are strongly correlated with social capacity and resiliency.

4) Pro-Social Items: Constructive behaviours such as volunteerism, leadership, creativity, spiritual activities, physical activities and persistence

5) At-Risk Behaviours: Such as alcohol and drug abuse, gambling, aggression, vandalism, theft, victimization, absenteeism and avoidance.

6) Outcome/Thriving Indicators: Additional items that capture the impact of the service provided such as mentorship, sense of purpose, optimism, independence, basic needs and parenting capacity.
